The Town Supervisor serves the community in several major areas,  including:

• Presiding Officer (Chairperson)-  The supervisor is the presiding officer at meetings of the town board (Town Law, Section 63)
• Town Legislature (Town Board Member)- The supervisor votes on matters before the town board as do all the other board members (Town Law, Sections 60 and 63).
• Town Executive and Administrator- After Town Board decisions have been made, it is the supervisor who often is responsible for carrying out the decisions. 
• The supervisor usually receives the majority of complaints and suggestions of citizens, as well.
• Town Fiscal Officer- The supervisor is the Treasurer of the town and generally represents the town in conducting many of its financial affairs.  The Supervisor appoints and works with the  Finance  Director to performs these duties for the town and prepare and implement the budget for the town.
• In the role of chief administrative officer, the Supervisor is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the town hall and its facilities.
• On occasion, the Supervisor may appoint committees to aid the Board in the discharge of its duties. 
• The Town Supervisor appoints and oversees the Building Department building (inspector and code enforcement officer). 

Major Projects and Initiatives Currently Underway

Repair of the Town Hall and Library Roof This project has been long-overdue and is now scheduled for completion by summer. 

15 Days of Spring and Town-wide Celebration of Earth Day and Arbor Day A proclamation was made on April 15 to celebrate these national events at a local level and to honor and acknowledge that our Annual CleanUp Day was started more than 20 years ago through the efforts of Hans Schmittenner and his son Joey Schmittenner, with the support of former Supervisor William Udicious.  Certificates of appreciaion were prepared.  This event  launched 15 days of town-wide Clean-UP, where families and neighbors worked together, on their own, based on their own schedule, to clean up their roadways.  Photos were taken, and with the support and assistance of our Highway Department, this annual event was a great success.  

New Town Website  The new website has been launched and now will continue to become a resource center for residents. 
1911 Corner House, Rush-Scottsville Road  Bero Architecture is currently evaluating the structure to determine its value to the community, and its potential to be the home for the Rush Historical Society and our town's historical artifacts.  
Rush Riverside Refuge and the 100 Acre Park The Rush Recreation and Park Association (Rush RPA) is planning to plant their first set of trees and fields of grasses this season as soon as the weather permits.  
Rush Beautification Committee.   With the partnership of the Rush Recreation and Park Association, we are now in our second year of recruiting volunteers to help improve our town's beauty by maintaining our Town's 12 gardens.  All intersted residents are encouraged to participate and contact my office for more information.
